Offline-first, on purpose

The entire game — board, keyboard, word list for the current month, styles — is 14 KB gzipped. No framework, no analytics bundle, no font download. It loads on hotel wifi and on a train through a tunnel.
What we cut
- A web font (18 KB) — system fonts look fine and load instantly.
- An animation library (34 KB) — three CSS transitions cover everything we animate.
- Third-party analytics — a daily counter in our own log answers the only question we had.
What that buys
First paint under 200 ms on a five-year-old phone, and a game that keeps working when the network does not. Progress lives in localStorage, so nothing is lost when you go offline mid-board.
